New Snoezelen Facilities for Elderly in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia

 

Riyadh - May 7, 2017

 

The Director-General of the Ministry of Labor and Development in Riyadh, Mr.Yousif Al-Sayali , opened in the presence of a number of ministry leaders and guests of the Social Welfare Home for the Elderly in Riyadh and the President of the International ISNA-MSE Association, Maurits Eijgendaal, the new Snoezelen Department in the home .

Attendees were briefed on the equipment provided in the department, which includes two Snoezelen rooms , and  one Snoezelen Bathroom ( water room ) which is the biggest & first of its kind in the Middle East.

 

Al-Sayali explained that the elderly care sector in the region receives all the support of the minister and the ministry's leadership and that we are keen to develop services for this dear group. We thank all the colleagues in the branch and the home for their efforts in this regard.

 

The Director of the Home of the Elderly in Riyadh Abdullah Al-Ajlan said that this initiative is one of the fruits of cooperation between the Home and the department of social responsibility in the branch, pointing out that cooperation will continue, God willing, for everything that would develop services to the beneficiaries.

 

"This project is one of the CSR initiatives in cooperation with the home, and it was done following the study of the needs of the beneficiaries in the home," said Khulood Al-Shaya, the Director of Social Responsibility Department. "This project aims to improve the quality of life for our elderly. She pointed out that the initiative includes the training of the staff in the home about using Snoezelen by Mr. Maurits. She thanked the Director General of the Ministry's branch and the Director of the home for their cooperation in accomplishing this project.

 

Mr. Maurits, was interested in the services for the elderly in Saudi Arabia and expressed his happiness with this visit, looking forward to cooperating with the Ministry to develop its services to the beneficiaries.
